It all started when I was 13 years old I got my first bass guitar.
I played in various bands playing the styles of rock alt rock and hardcore metal
for the next 5 years. Then being introduced to the rave scene. I fell in love with drum and bass.
Trading my pick for a cross fadder I learned to spinn from watching the dj's i knew and studying the dj's I loved.
The next step was obvious for me to start producing. Im still fairly new at it and have miles to grow but,
my life long experience with instruments of all kinds have helped alot in producing. At the moment I can't stop writing the music in my head wont stop. |
Q & A with Symbolizm
Q: Where does your artist name come from?
A: Living in a world controlled and poisoned by the media. This is my attempt to introduce possitive symbolism through frequencies and images and a music genre connected to a higher culture. A culture for anyone with an open mind and a set of ears.
Q: Tell us more about your musical roots!
A: Well, it all began when I was 13 years old I started to play the guitar. Soon after I began playing the bass guitar due to my big hands. I spent the next 5 year playing bass in many bands. (rock, metal, even a punk band) when I was 15 I got into the rave scene and found dnb, after that everything changed. I began learning how to spin records by watching other dj's. and have spent the last 5 years spinnin' records
Q: How did you start producing music?
A: Mixin' records has always been a great outlet for me. But, it is not enough to fill my need create. Producing gives me the control I need to get all these noizes out of my head.
Q: Are you also a DJ?
A: yeah and if you get me a phoneboth I can be superman aswell.
Q: Do you work together with other artists also? E.g. Remixes?
A: Not yet but I'm excited to do work with other artist.
Q: Do you have any special musical aims?
A: As long as dnb progresses on to the next generation of producers I'm happy. I would love to get into the position to be able to help new up n' comming tallent some day.
Q: What do you think of the contemporary popular music which is played by normal radio stations?
A: It's there....and I'm here and I'd like to keep it that way. I'll probably loose my hearing before I loose my interest in loud hard psychedelic rythms.
Q: What have you read recently (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you?
A: A movie by Mike judge called "Idiocracy". It follows some of the things I belived before I saw the film.
Q: What is your all-time favorite track? Why?
A: six million ways to die by hype. It was litteraly the track that sparked my intrest in dnb back in '98.
Q: What's one thing you're a fan of that people might not expect?
A: OMG I freakin' love MC Hammer!!......hahahaha!.........um seriously though I love sushi big time. It happened in '07. |
